On the ground after the earthquake
No child should have to endure flattened homes and lost loved ones. But 8-year-old Halima woke up to her home crushed, and her mother and two sisters lost to the destruction.
The 2022 earthquake in southeastern Afghanistan left more than 362,000 people in need - and over half of them children.

I followed two female vaccinators for a day - Morvarid and Masoma - who visit each household in their community to ensure every child receives their polio vaccine on time.
Children hope for a secondary education

About to complete sixth grade, these girls and boys were nearing the end of their primary education. I created this video to help appeal for funding from UNICEF supporters, so these children could continue learning into secondary.
